We're excited for you to celebrate our wedding with us.
It's been a long time coming. We met August 2017 in San Francisco, fell head over heels by September, braved 3 years of long-distance relationship, traveled to India, Peru, Italy, Germany, Iceland, Argentina, and so many more beautiful places, and made countless amazing friends (that's you!) together.
Join us in Chicago this spring to celebrate the love and life we have built and the promise we are giving to each other for many many more to come.
June 8th, 2025
4pm - 11pm
We know many of you are coming from far away to celebrate with us. Your presence is the biggest present! No gifts required. Really!
For those that really want to get us something, we created a registry with some ideas and we enourage you to bring a Christmas tree ornament (details below).
To help us remember our wedding and all the wonderful guests we celebrated with, we invite you to contribute an ornament to our future Christmas trees. Even better if it is homemade or will remind us of you.
German weddings traditionally include games, sketches, songs, or other activities organized by the couple's friends and family. If you would like to contribute something, please reach out to our maid of honor Lina (Dlina9295-at-gmail.com).
Many of you are joining from further away and while we hope to spend some time with you all before and after the wedding, here is a list with our favorite places in Chicago for you to explore:
Pequods (Deep dish pizza), Bonci (Roman style pizza), Robert's Pizza and Dough Company (nice seating outside), Green Street Smoked Meats (BBQ), Au Cheval (Burgers), Chicago Curry House (Indian), Gundis (Kurdish), Strings (Ramen), Pizz'Amici (pizza), 5 Rabanitos (Mexican), QXY (dumplings), Valois (a bit of an experience, Obama's breakfast spot, bring cash).
Promontory Point (our neighborhood park with a view of downtown and a great place to swim or have a picnic), Ping Tom Park (great views from Chinatown to downtown), Lincoln Park Zoo (free, find the slow loris, it's our favorite), Garfield Park Conservatory ($10, beautiful greenhouse with different excibits and Katja's favorite the fern room), The Riverwalk (great for a walk or run), The 606 (cool elevated park), Millenium/Grant Park + the bean (a classic), Steelworker's park (small but gives a sense of some Chicago history)
ISAC Museum (free, Chris favorite museum with lots of cool ancient stuff, probably don't go on Saturday since it's UChicago's graduation), Chicago Architecture Tour (a bit pricy but very fun), Powell's Bookstore (great second-hand bookstore in our neighborhood), Movement Climbing Gyms, the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium.
Hyde Park, Chinatown, Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, West Loop
The Chicago Blues Festival is happening June 5-7th, 2025. right downtown, free, and super awesome. Go check it out! If you need even more music, Sofar Sounds has small super fun concerts almost every weekend.
Semi-formal is encouraged but wear what you feel good in.
